A rare 18th century ritual bronze of eight arm Durga (Mahesasuramardini) overcoming the buffalo demon Maheshasura with his decapitated head lying at her feet. The fallen head of the demon is replaced by a devotee or possibly Shiva. restored with polish to near original status H 5.5” X W 4.0”
