Buddha, Ceylon (Sri Lanka), inspiringly seated with right hand in Bhumispara (pointing to the earth), left hand in dhyna mudra and his eyes half closed in meditation. He is garbed in folded monastic robes (utterasanga) while seated on semicircular lotus  base in virasana posture. The flame ornamant (Siraspata) over his cranial protuberance (usnisai) is characteristic of  Sri Lankan Buddhist sculpture. An exceptionally sculptured Kandyan 19th century Buddha statue with fine patina.
