Large rare antique bronze of Samadhi Buddha with semi-closed eyes and in monastic robes (uttarsaga)  seated  in virasana from Sri Lanka. Relatively few sitting ancient Buddha religious bronzes were cast on a lotus pedestal in ancient Sri Lanka  (The Golden Age of Sculpture in Sri Lanka, Visual Dharma Publications, Hong Kong 1992). A flame shaped ornament (siraspata) is placed on auspicious protuberance (usinisa) on the top Buddha’s head as he holds his hands in dnyana mudra.  a solid cast copper-bronze, Anton Sebastian Collection from Antiques International. no damage or any blemish, H 21” X W 17”, estimated weight 15  Kg, Kandyan Period 19th century
