Lord of the Beasts/Bronze talisman or Cultic standard from Luristan, Western Persia. The most intricate of cast metal images found in Luristan of which over 50 are known to exist. A male anthromorphic figure grasps neck of two rearing monsters from whose back grow the heads of two cocks or birds of prey while a further head sprouts from his waist. A possible early representation of God Sroasha, a venerable angel of the Zoroaster religion. Only around 40 of these speciments are known to exist in the world,  H 6.2”  X 2.5”, ca 1000 to 800 BC.
