Seated Buddha in virasana  with his right hand in Bhumisparsa and the other hand in Dhyana mudra (gesture of meditation). His monastic robe or Utttarasanga, is placed over the left shoulder with folded shawl (sanghati). His ushnisha, the protuberance over his curled hair and the flamed ornament (siraspata) are characteristics of Sri Lankan Buddhist sculpture. A rare and well preserved large heavy bronze sculpture from the Kandyan era. (Height) 60cm/24” ca 19th century.
