KEITH, Sir Arthur (1866-1955) Anatomist and anthropologist from Aberdeen who studied medicine at Marischal College. He discovered the sino-atrial node of the heart in 1907 while working with Martin Flack (1882?1931). He was appointed Curator of the Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons in 1908 and made many contributions to surgical pathology and anatomy, including 14 cases of esophageal atresia. Some of his many publications include: The Antiquity of Man (1915), Human Embryology and Morphology (1902), and Engines of the Human Body
